A little something new, twice a month. Thoughts, practical ideas and gentle encouragement for the home and life you’re living.
Welcome Home
Because home should feel like somewhere you can exhale.
There is something rather lovely about coming home.
Closing the door behind you.
Putting down your bag, or loosening your tie.
Kicking off your shoes.
And exhaling.
At least, that's the idea.
Because sometimes home doesn't feel quite like that.
Sometimes the cupboard you keep meaning to sort gives you the side-eye every time you pass it. The dining table has quietly stopped being a dining table. And there is at least one drawer in the house that we shall agree not to discuss.
That's life!
Homes are lived in. They change because we change.
And perhaps that's where organizing gets misunderstood.
It isn't really about perfect cupboards, matching baskets or having fewer things.
It's about making home work a little better for the person living in it.
A little easier.
A little calmer.
A little more you.
That's what we'll talk about here in the Butterfly Journal; homes, belongings, change, the occasional stubborn drawer, and the very human stories behind all of them.
Come in.
Welcome home.
No perfection required.
